Albion Riverside Park

Location: 1739 North Albion Street, Los Angeles, CA 90031

Using funding from Prop O, the city of LA purchased Albion Dairy Park, demolished the buildings on the site, and performed remediation of hazardous materials. Now, the site is being transformed into Albion Riverside Park, which is due to be completed in early 2019. The project is being designed with cutting-edge stormwater management elements and water quality improvement features, including bioswales, bio-retention basins, and pervious paving. Urban stormwater runoff from approximately 300 acres will be diverted from the stormdrains and either used onsite for irrigation or infiltrated into the groundwater. By diverting stormwater from the storm drain, this project will improve water quality in the LA River and help replenish local groundwater supplies. In addition, Albion Riverside Park will expand the open space of Downey Park and increase community access to the LA River.
