Franklin D. Roosevelt Park Regional Stormwater Capture Project
Location: 7600 Graham Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90001
The Franklin D. Roosevelt Park Regional Stormwater Capture Project will collect dry weather runoff and stormwater from approximately 200 acres of the unincorporated community of Florence-Firestone. The project proposes to construct new drains to take water from the existing Glen Avenue Drain, remove trash and debris, and send the water to underground infiltration chambers at the park soccer field, potentially conserving approximately 34 million gallons of water in an average year.
The project also proposes to improve amenities at the park, such as a redesigned soccer field with artificial turf, replacement of skate park ramps, a new education garden with bioswales and drought tolerant plants.
