OurWaterLA would like to recognize that the waters we work to protect are part of unceded Indigenous land. We would like to acknowledge and pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging.
OurWaterLA is currently pursuing consultation with local Indigenous Nations with the intention of understanding and uplifting Indigenous community needs and priorities. We would love to hear from any members of Indigenous Nations who would like to participate in consultation with OurWaterLA. If you are interested, please fill out this contact form.
Take the Pledge
Our community needs projects that will bring us safe, secure, clean water and will protect us from climate change. That’s why I call on LA County to prioritize these goals for the Safe Clean Water Program, as they continue to make program improvements and project investments:
Offering as many benefits as possible that meet the needs identified by communities. Community benefits include equitable access to increased shade, cooler temperatures, good green jobs, recreational opportunities, and more.
Replacing unused pavement and other hard surfaces with increased quality green space, like parks and wetlands, especially on school campuses and in park poor communities.
Listening to community voices and fostering community leadership in Safe, Clean Water Program projects, and in the program process.
I pledge my support for a Safe, Clean Water Program that prioritizes nature, community health, jobs and equity.
